Best Full Coverage Bikinis For a Cruise: My Amazon Haul

Are you struggling to find the perfect swimsuit for a cruise that provides the convenience of a two-piece but that provides full coverage? It’s hard to balance style, comfort, and the right amount of coverage. And finding a two-piece suit that provides that extra coverage without looking frumpy can be challenging.

I decided to try on a few two-piece swimsuits that offer a bit more coverage while still feeling cute and flattering. Some were winners, while others were total fails. If you're looking for a great cruise swimsuit, keep reading to see which ones worked and which ones didn't.

For reference, I'm 5'9", wear size 8/10 and have a 36DD bust.

Red Hot and Ready to Go

The first swimsuit I tried was a bold, fire-engine red number, and I loved almost everything about it. The color was stunning, and the fit was flattering. The top gave great support, and the skirt provided just the right amount of coverage. The only thing I didn’t love? The skirt was all one piece, making it a little less versatile than I would have liked. I really wish this was sold as a three-piece set instead, with the skirt being its own piece. Still, I like this one a lot. (Get it here)

Floral Swimsuit

I just tried on this floral bikini, and I’m honestly loving the fit and bright colors!  It’s giving major tropical vacation vibes, and the tie-front detail is such a cute touch. The fabric feels comfy, and it’s definitely a cute suit. The only downside is that I wouldn't exactly describe this one as "full coverage" compared to the others. The product photo on Amazon made it look more full coverage than it is in real life. I wouldn't say this one is skimpy, but I wouldn't describe it as full coverage either. (Get it here)

Nautical Chic with Adjustable Details

Next up was a cute navy-and-white nautical-themed swimsuit. I loved this one! The full-coverage bottom is super comfortable, and the top offers plenty of support. One of my favorite features was the adjustable strings on the sides. If you wanted to add a little flair, you could cinch them up for a more fitted look. The back tie also made it easy to put on and take off. This swimsuit is definitely cruise-approved, especially with the fun, nautical aesthetic, which is so apropos. (Get it here)

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini – A Fun and Flirty Pick

This bright yellow polka dot bikini was a pleasant surprise. It wasn’t a teeny-weeny bikini, but it still felt fun and flirty while offering great coverage, on both the top and the bottom. The top felt secure, which is important if you plan on swimming or moving around a lot (no wedgies here!). And the top more than covered my ample bosom, without feeling like I was falling out of it. The only thing to keep in mind is that the top runs a bit small, so I would recommend sizing up for a better fit. (Get it here)

Checkered Style with a Flaw

This last checkered swimsuit was a cute number, similar to the red one I tried earlier. The pattern was adorable, and the fit was great. Just like the red one, though, the skirt was all one piece, attached with the bottoms, which I didn’t love. A three-piece set, with the skirt being removable from the bottoms, would have been a much better design. I still liked it enough to consider pairing the top with a plain pair of red bottoms for a different look. Overall, it is a solid choice with just a small design flaw. (Get it here)

Finding the Best Swimsuit for a Cruise

Trying on new swimsuits can be fun, but finding the perfect one takes some trial and error. If you’re shopping for a cruise, look for swimsuits that balance style, comfort, and coverage. Pay attention to the fit, fabric, and how easy they are to put on and take off.
