Best Cruise Outfits for Women

Choosing the best women's outfits for a cruise can be challenging, especially when you have to balance various factors. Personally, I prioritize wrinkle-resistant fabrics, breathable materials to stay cool on a Caribbean cruise, and affordability. And of course, the cute and stylish factor. Keeping these things in mind, I recently did an Amazon haul of stylish cruise outfits, and here’s what I found. 

Given my commitment to balling on a budget, all of these items are under $35. And for reference, I'm typically a size 8/10, 5'9", 36DD, and unless otherwise noted, all of the items pictured are size large.

Romper Love

I absolutely love this first piece! It looks like a dress, but it’s actually a romper, which is perfect for cruise ships. You don’t have to worry about windy decks or sudden breezes catching you off guard, and accidentally putting on a show. It’s comfortable and flowy, but note that because it's a romper, and one with a zipper, it can make bathroom visits, well.... tricky. Flowy Dress – Beware of the Wind!

Of this haul, this dress is my absolute favorite. So much so, that I ended up buying it in another design in addition to this one. Note that unlike the first number, this one is an actual dress, not a romper, so it’s important to be mindful of high winds on the cruise ship. That being said, this dress is incredibly comfy and stretchy, making it a great option for casual dinners or walking around the ship. It's also a great option on port days. I wore it in Costa Maya over my swimsuit, and it actually made a perfect coverup. It also has a cute tie belt that you can wear in the front or the back, giving it a little extra style. (Get it here)

Kimono Set – with POCKETS!

I am obsessed with this two-piece kimono set! It does not include the top, though, but it pairs well with any basic white tank. The best part? The shorts have pockets! Having pockets on a cruise is always a win, whether you need a spot for your phone, key card, or just a place to rest your hands. I wore this around on the ship and got so many compliments! (Get it here)

Strapless Dress – Runs Big but Has a Secret Panel

This strapless dress is another favorite, but it does run big, so I ended up exchanging this large size, pictured, for a medium. I do love how it has a hidden panel in the front, which helps prevent any accidental wardrobe mishaps. It’s flowy, elegant, and perfect for a relaxed yet fashionable cruise look, and is a great option for dinners in the Main Dining Room (MDR). (Get it here)

Swim Cover-Up That Doubles as a Dress

Even though this is technically a swimsuit cover-up, and I discovered this one in my recent cruise cover-up haul, I think this white dress works perfectly as a dress on its own. I wore it out and about during a port day in Roatan, and it was perfect. It’s lightweight, stretchy, and easy to throw on for port days when you need something quick and cute. I love versatile pieces like this because they help save space in my suitcase, and they're fashionable. Given the stretch of this dress, you can size down a bit. Another Kimono Set – Shorter Sleeves, Same Pockets

I also grabbed another kimono set, similar to the first one, but with shorter sleeves. Like the first set, the shorts have pockets, and the top isn’t included. Any basic white tank pairs well with it, making it an easy, breezy outfit choice for warm cruise days. I also got so many compliments on this one, which I wore in Cozumel. The vibrant, tropical colors and patterns make it the perfect outfit for a Caribbean cruise. (Get it here)

Tropical Off-the-Shoulder Romper – A Stylish Favorite

This black and white tropical off-the-shoulder romper is a total win. It has a cute tie in the back, giving it that extra stylish touch. Since it’s a romper, it’s great for windy cruise ships, but it’s not the most convenient if you need to use the restroom quickly. Still, I love the way it looks and feels, although it does run a bit short for us tall girls (I'm 5'9"). But, given that it's a romper, you can get away with a shorter cut. (Get it here)

Green Dress – Not My Favorite, But Still Cute

I also picked up a green dress, but it’s not my favorite of the bunch. I just didn't like the way the color looked on me, so I ended up returning this one. On the plus side, it's super comfy and stretchy, with adjustable straps, which is nice, but it just didn’t wow me as much as the others. It’s still a solid choice for a comfy, casual cruise outfit. (Get it here)

Scallop Edge Cardigan – Perfect for Cold Dining Rooms

One thing I always need on a cruise is a good cardigan because the dining rooms tend to be freezing! This scallop edge cardigan is perfect for that. It’s lightweight but provides just enough warmth to keep me comfortable while enjoying a nice dinner. It also buttons up if you need more warmth. I ended up wearing this cardigan multiple times on a recent cruise, so it was my go-to versatile piece. I loved it so much that I ended up ordering it in black, too. It runs a bit big, so I went with a size medium.

Trying on new cruise outfits can be fun, and I love finding (and sharing) pieces that are stylish, comfortable, and practical for a trip at sea.
